The council is the third tier of government, the closest to the people, yet often the most overlooked and misunderstood. The tier where policy meets potholes, where the decisions of strangers shape neighbourhoods, and where leadership is tested not in theory, but in the everyday.
About Neil...
I draw on 17 years of deep council experience with, what I hope is, a thoughtful voice, and an authentic sense of public duty. The idea is to share what I’ve learned from my time in local government, particularly as a former Mayor. I think this could be of benefit to current councillors, an engaged community or just curious members of the public. I hope to hit both reflective and conversational tones.
